Mechanical Fitter

First Achieve's Engineering Department is recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled

Mechanical Fitter to join their manufacturing team.

Our client is a well-established engineering company with over 60 years of industry

experience, specialising in the design and manufacture of advanced engineering equipment

for a global customer base. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected manufacturer,

working on technically challenging projects within a modern production environment.

The Role

As a Mechanical Fitter, your responsibilities will include:

* Mechanical assembly and testing of water systems, including manifolds, pump skids

and interconnecting pipework. Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel and

copper is essential.

* Installation of pneumatic systems, including running pneumatic lines from valves,

devices and air islands.

* Installation of vacuum pipework and vacuum components using bolted connections.

* Assembly and installation of inert gas pipework using stainless steel and other

suitable materials.

* Precision mechanical assembly of furnace components, ensuring the highest standards

of quality and workmanship.

* Fault finding and diagnosing mechanical systems.

* Inspecting mechanical components and assemblies.

* Carrying out vacuum and pressure testing of components and systems (full training

provided).

* Occasional travel to customer sites to carry out installations, servicing and repair

work.

What We're Looking For

* Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter with a strong and stable work history.

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

* A flexible, proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.

* Time-served Mechanical Fitter or equivalent engineering qualifications are preferred

but not essential.
