Job descriptionFirst Achieve's Engineering Division have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join an established and growing company in the Edinburgh region. Our client is an international manufacturer, dedicated to aerospace industries world-wide. What's on Offer:A straight to permanent role£18.30/hr37hr/weekA rotating 3 shift pattern Monday to FridayThis role will report directly to the Maintenance Technician and you will be expected to work with minimal supervision, once you've been trained. Rotating Pattern is Structured Accordingly:Monday - Thursday:Early Shift 6.00am to 2.00pmBack Shift 2.00pm to 10.00pmNight Shift 10:00pm to 6:00amFriday:Early Shift 6.00am to 12.20pmBack Shift 12.20pm to 6.40pmNight Shift 6:40pm to 1:00amDuties will involve the following:Carrying out repairs and preventative maintenance to a high level responding quickly and efficiently to plant breakdowns.Assisting with the successful introduction of new/modified parts, equipment and tooling.Performing risk assessments, re-assessments, statutory checks and weekly inspections.Developing working processes as part of methodologically planned maintenance.Ensure cost effective use of energy and general company facilities.Ensure all department policies and procedures are maintained, communicated, understood and adhered to.Maintenance and repair of all production plant equipment (Forging Presses, Machine Tools, Furnaces, etc.) and services on site including offices, kitchen and toilet facilities.Electrical Installations/upgrades/remedials (lighting repairs etc.)Emergency light testing/PAT testing/Thermal ImagingEssential skills, experience and knowledge:The successful candidate must:Served a recognised apprenticeship and have obtained a qualification in a mechanical discipline to a minimum of SVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent.Be a timed served mechanical fitter/technician.Have a good understanding of Mechanical drawings.Have a good all-round knowledge of mechanical maintenance.Be able to work under pressure and being able to use your own initiative.Be a good communicator with a helpful and flexible approach/ proactive in self-learning and development.The ability to work as part of a team.Be competent in the use of a computer.Have prior industry experience in mechanical maintenance covering medium voltage distribution systems, equipment breakdowns, trouble shooting, and working with inspection and maintenance programmes to meet statutory requirements is essential.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving business, who can offer long-term stability & career progression for the right candidates.
