Engineering Manager

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the Engineering Department: Oversee all technical activities, ensuring that projects meet customer requirements with innovative, practical solutions.
  • Drive R&D: Take full responsibility for research, design, material selection, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You'll also maintain development schedules and produce progress reports.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with management, production, and sales to align project specifications and procedures with customer needs.
  • Support Sales: Provide technical expertise on customer enquiries, enabling the Sales team to win new business.
  • Project Management: Coordinate projects, direct technical activities, and assess feasibility based on technology, resources, and market demand.
  • Innovate and Improve: Implement new approaches in automation, design standards, and internal policies, ensuring the department operates at peak efficiency.
  • Recruit and Develop Talent: Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering growth and continuous development within the department.
  • Quality Commitment:
  • You will play a critical role in ensuring the ongoing development and implementation of our quality management system.
  • This includes:
  • Ensuring adherence to customer, statutory, and regulatory requirements (CE Marking, PED, ATEX).
  • Setting and achieving quality objectives, with the resources to support them.

What You'll Need:

  • Degree/Higher Apprenticeship in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in mechanical engineering, preferably with leadership or mentoring experience.
  • Strong background in mechanical engineering design and analysis for industrial rotating machinery (pumps, mixers).
  • Expertise in SolidWorks and familiarity with analysis techniques (manual or finite element).
  • Solid understanding of engineering codes, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Strong skills in interpreting engineering drawings, standards, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Professional Engineer Registration or the potential to gain registration is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Epicor.
